Trustees

All Parishes in the Archdiocese of Hartford are separate Corporations under Connecticut State Law. As such, each Parish is composed of a five member Corporation with the Archbishop as President, the Pastor as Vice President, the Vicar General as a Trustee and two Lay Trustees from the Parish. The Lay Trustees are appointed annually by the Pastor and Archbishop.

Our lay Trustees are Myles Hubbard and Joey Arango.

Protecting God’s Children

St. Justin-St. Michael Parish is committed to creating and providing a safe environment for all who worship and participate in parish activities with us — particularly ensuring the safety of all of our children.

In 2003, the Archdiocese of Hartford instituted a Safe Environment Office in order to be in compliance with the Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People. The Safe Environment Office established a “Code of Conduct” for all Priests, Deacons, Seminarians, Religious Personnel, Pastoral Ministers, Spiritual Counselors, Administrators, Lay Employees, Lay Volunteers and Contract Employees in parishes, schools, programs and organizations of the Archdiocese of Hartford.

Policies and Procedures relating to allegations of sexual abuse of minors by priests or deacons or by lay persons, the Policies and Procedures for the Protection of Minors and Vulnerable Adults and the Code of Ministerial Behavior for Personnel of the Archdiocese of Hartford can be found at the Archdiocese of Hartford.

The Parish of St. Justin-St. Michael is currently working to implement the Diocesan Safe Environment Program.

There are three elements to be implemented for every employee and volunteer in our Parish.

  • Commitment to the Diocesan Sexual Misconduct Policy;
  • A four hour Virtus® awareness training program Protecting God’s Children for Adults;
  • Background checks on all employees and volunteers

The Parish leadership is working to be in total compliance with this initiative.
